Week 4

Week 4 Aims:  - Finishing the second Idea successfully.  Week 4 Issues:  - Soldering the LEDs together.  In this final week, we managed to finish our second Idea successfully.  Here are some of the steps that we have done to finish the process:  Note: in week 3, we stated that the code was our primary concern. The problem was not in the coding, but rather in the circuit. It turns out that an oscilloscope must be connected to the clock generator for the Lights to respond to music. The oscilloscope probe was used to examine the clock generator's pins 0 and 1. The circuit was operating well and serving its intended function. A reason might be that the output of the Clock generator is defective due to soldering and the oscilloscope probes are fixing this issue.  Masterclock was configured for usage with the nin-default 25 MHz frequency. With output 0 frequency of 165 KHz and output 1 frequency of 104 KHz. Here are the steps that were done this we...

Week 3 Aims:  1- Trying to Finish the second Idea.  Week 3 Issues:  1 -   The circuit is not working correctly.  2 - Some of the LEDs won't turn on.  3- Having trouble with the code.  This week we tried to finish our second approach. Here are some of the steps that we did this week to try to make the idea work.    1 - Checking that the components are working and if there is any signal in the circuit:  Using an oscilloscope, we first determined the presence of an input signal. Secondly, we utilized a multimeter to check for short circuits. Mohammad was able to solder the Clock generator for a stronger connection after determining that the issue was not in the Clock generator. Fourthly, we determined that the LEDs were receiving 5 volts from the power supply. Then, we replaced the Arduino with another Arduino to determine whether there was a difference. 2 - Checking if the LEDs are still working:  In the morning, all LEDs ...

Week 2

Week 2 Aims:  1- Finishing the first idea.  2- Working on the second approach Week 2 Issues:  1 - Trying to fit all Components in the test board  2 - Trying to make the circuit work  3- Having a problem with installing one of the components ( Clock Generator ).    When we ordered our components we ordered two types of output displays. One is the max7219 matrix display and a set of LED strips followed by a set of integrated circuits as shown in the figures below:                                     Figure 1:max7219 display                           Figure 2: LED Strip Figure 3: MSGEQ7 Chip This means that we have two sets of outputs to test during the upcoming weeks and eventually decide which one operates better.    Before the start of the week, we managed to complete the fir...

Before Attending the lab session on Friday 03/02/2023: On Wednesday, Feb the first, 2023 we managed to have a group meeting with our supervisor. We discussed the main tasks and aims for week 1 of the lab session.  The main tasks for week 1 were:  1- Checking that all the components arrived sucssefuly 2- Checking Compatibility between components.   3- Drawing and Building the circuit.  4- Installing Arduino Libraries to test the codes. 5- Deciding the audio input for the circuit. Before Attending the advisor session we managed to select our roles in the following order:  1- Project Manager: Mohammad Almatrouk  2- Designer: Abdullateef Althweeni  3- Implementer/Developer: Abdullah Almutairi 4- Technical Writer: Mohammed Almethen  1- Checking that all the components arrived successfully We had a slight delay in our components but they managed to arrive before the lab day.  2- Checking Compatibility between components   Since...
