Week 3

Week 3 Aims:

1- Trying to Finish the second Idea.

Week 3 Issues:

1 -  The circuit is not working correctly.

2 - Some of the LEDs won't turn on.

3- Having trouble with the code.

This week we tried to finish our second approach. Here are some of the steps that we did this week to try to make the idea work.

1 - Checking that the components are working and if there is any signal in the circuit:

Using an oscilloscope, we first determined the presence of an input signal. Secondly, we utilized a multimeter to check for short circuits. Mohammad was able to solder the Clock generator for a stronger connection after determining that the issue was not in the Clock generator. Fourthly, we determined that the LEDs were receiving 5 volts from the power supply. Then, we replaced the Arduino with another Arduino to determine whether there was a difference.

2 - Checking if the LEDs are still working:

In the morning, all LEDs in the strip were functioning well until a minor error burned or fried the final three rows of the strip, leaving only 11 bands operational. We verified that the 5 volts from the power source are feeding the LEDs, but some of them failed to illuminate. Even if we manage to illuminate all LEDs, the spectrum does not shift or react to the noises. This was not our primary concern.

3- The Code:

As we are EEE students who dislike coding, the code was our primary obstacle. We did our best to build and execute a code with the assistance of some resources and lab specialists. The code we used for our initial concept was easier to work with than this one; we are presently conducting research to determine what went wrong and why the Lights are not responding to the music.

In the end:

Mohammad and Abdullateef are implementing the second solution to the problem. In the interim, though, we have a working concept that is ready for demonstration. If we cannot make the second idea work, we will likely remain with the initial idea that we worked on.
